Why I have my hair colored
It’s CNY around the corner, and normally, it is also time of the year, people will have their hair colored. Prior to these, I have been coloring my hair since after SPM, and there after, it’s years and years of touch up of color. Up till one day, I decided I had enough, expecially I’m battling with hair falls and split ends.
So I decided grow and ombre of virgin and colored (damaged) hair and chop it off. I had virgin black har for 3 years now. But recently, the hair dying thing came back to me, as I didn’t want such deep contrast between my hair and face. I wanted my hair to look a tad lighter. But unfortunately, my saloon does not have dark dark brown hair coloring. I didn’t understand how come, but now I know: because you could have these subtle brown, at home in your covnience. Coloring hair at saloon: RM150 – RM180. Home coloring, RM45 / box. Gosh, I could color my hair 3 times already. So who would wanna pay 3 times more for something you could do at home. Now, I learnt that unless I want like cyan, neon pink hair, only I go to a saloon. Otherwise, if I want some muted colors, I could get it done at home.
Why I choose Liese Creamy Bubble
After carefully looking at reviews online, seemed like Liese bubble hair color is most popular and the convinience it brings as compared to other brands like REVLON / LOREAL, as
- The colors are more suited for Asian skin tones
- The fact that it is bubbly, makes easier to apply as compared to liquid

Why I choose Mint Ash

There myriad of colors to choose from by Liese, but to be honest, I learnt that the best color should be the ones that is most purchased or most reviewed. So I went with the bandwagon on this color. To be honest, my favorite was Silvery Brown, but Watsons does not have it at the time of purchase, and it was rarely reviewed anyway.

Another reason to this, was that Liese Mint Ash will look brighter as opposed to Silvery Brown. Since my hair is a virgin hair, the silvery brown may not be too obvious on my jet black hair. So off I go with the most popular and also better of the choice
My Verdict

- The whole dying process was simple and instructions were very clear on how to prepare my hair
- The results of the color were pretty impressive, I thought the color will only be visible under the sun, but my god I’m wrong. It is quite obvious even indoors
- Only thing I wished to do better on my next dye, is to dye my bottom hair first. Then only work on the roots. Seemed like my hair is more prominent on the top than the bottom
- True to color: Seemed like the color wasn’t like what I as advertised. It doesn’t have the green shade but turns out to have more like it has red undertones. Yet I’m satisfied with the color
- Damage to hair: Yes, my hair did get a little coarser compared to my virgin hair, but I’m thinking to do a keratin treatment after this at a saloon. Also, one advice that I took online is to apply treatment AFTER washing off the dye, THEN only shampoo, THEN another round of CONDITIONING. Perhaps that could’ve lessen the damage too.
- Will I purchase again in future? Yes, the budget and results impressed me.
